Nigerian actor and comedian, Woli Arole has said it’s almost a sacrilege to compare Wizkid to the legendary Afrobeat singer Fela Anikulapo-Kuti.

In a tweet, Arole insisted Fela’s status and achievement far outweigh that of Starboy so he wants people to keep the argument modest if they should draw parallel lines between the two giants from Nigeria.

He also said Fela is being studied in universities abroad and that makes him ahead of any other artistes from Africa’s most populous nation.

Fela Aníkúlápó Kuti also known as Abami Eda was a Nigerian multi-instrumentalist, bandleader, composer, political activist, and Pan-Africanist. He is regarded as the pioneer of Afrobeat, an African music genre that combines traditional Yoruba with funk and jazz. Wikipedia

Arole wrote;

”Please nobody should compare WIZKID and FELA around me ooooooo. When I went to study “Filmmaking in London” my lecturer asked me “Where are you from? I replied “Nigeria”. He replied “Do you know FELA?. Mo foh. Fela is been studied in Universities abroad.”
