Ghanaian gospel musician Mrs. Esther Aseidu known in the music industry as Piesie Esther has said that it is risky for a married female artist to have a male manager.
The gospel musician has shared her experience of having her husband as her manager. According to her, she feels safe because she knows he is her husband and is answerable to him only.
Speaking in an interview on Cape Coast-based Kastle FM, Piesie Esther said that being managed by another man who is not your husband as a married woman is risky. “In a certain way having my husband as my manager helps me a lot in a way that for him he’s the one that I’m living my life with”.
She remarked “It is such that getting someone who understands the nature of my work helps a lot because the schedule of my work demands that I go to the studio to record in the evening.
“You can be in the studio up to 2 am before coming home and if you have a male manager who is not your husband that can make your husband have different thoughts about your whereabouts,” she added.
She explained “It is risky sometimes going up and down with another man in the night who is not your husband but having your husband as your manager can help to calm such situations.
“Sometimes you need to change over and wear another dress after a show and I do that in the vehicle in the presence of my husband because I know he’s the one I’m married to,” Piesie Esther ended.
