‘It’s Sad Ghanaians Hate On Celebs Who Endorse Political Parties, We Have to Grow’- John Mahama

John Dramani Mahama has made another heartwarming speech that shows he threads on a healthy political path.

In a new interview with Starr FM, the leader of the National Democratic Congress said he doesn’t understand why Ghanaians hate on celebs when they get aligned to political parties of their choice. He made this known to explain why he’s not involving celebrities in his campaign trail this year.

According to him, he doesn’t want their careers to be distracted because of the unhealthy culture that permeates within the corridors of politics in our part of the world.

To him, musicians endorsing other political parties does not change the love he has for their music and sees nothing wrong with their decisions.

“It doesn’t amount to an endorsement. We don’t understand some of these things, in Ghana when a musician makes music for a political party, then he comes against a lot of antipathy from the supporters of the other political party and that shouldn’t be the case. But unfortunately, that’s what happens.”

“So in this particular campaign, I have tried to discourage as much as possible getting celebrities involved in our campaign because it leads to the destruction of their careers and so If you’ll notice I haven’t gone around with celebrities and musicians because our politics does not understand those things. I don’t have any antipathy or anger with anybody who endorses Nana Addo,” he added.
