It appears that foreign acts normally get free publicity for their work in the local scene but the local ones would have to be charged for them to get the publicity, this, AY Comedian believes is problematic. To him, that it slavery mentality.

The comedian added that the reason the foreign artists became popular is that their own people projected them to the limelight and so when we also project our own, they’ll become the household names that the foreign artists are now.

AY Comedian, real name Ayodeji Richard Makun, expressed this sentiment on Twitter yesterday December 12.

According to AY Comedian, these foreign artists that people in the local scene are so excited to promote don’t even know who they are, yet they could go any length to promote them rather than focus on promoting their own.

“Slavery mentality is when you are excited to promote & project foreign artistes who don’t even know you for free,& then ask your own local artistes to pay you. The only reason they became famous, was because their own people projected them for the rest of the world to notice”, he wrote.
