Ivorian Super Star Freddy Meiway Reveals How Sarkodie ‘Disrespected’ Him + Sarkodie’s Immediate Reaction

Ivorian musician, Freddy Meiway has mentioned in an interview with Joy FM that, although he loves Sarkodie, the rapper has been disrespectful to him. Freddy Meiway who is currently in Ghana because he’s been booked to perform at the 2nd edition of the EMY Awards happening tomorrow, June 24th at the Kempinski Hotel.

It would be recalled that sometime back in 2015 in an interview on Joy FM, the Ivorian musician confessed his love for Sarkodie’s music and expressed interest in doing a song with him. Sarkodie had even tweeted back in 2014 that, he had spoken to Freddy Meiway on phone and that what he told him, got him ‘gassed’.

But in this recent interview, the ‘Miss Lolo’ hit singer listing some of the Ghanaian artistes he loves and appreciates, refused to talk about Sarkodie when he was asked during an interview on Cosmopolitan Mix with Doreen Andoh on Friday, June 23, 2017.

“I have respect for the old ones, Kojo Antwi, Amakye Dede, Amandzeba, Gyedu-Blay Ambolley, Osibisa, several of them but the new generation, I know a few names, Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy. I know another [one] but I don’t want to talk about him, his name starts by S but he [doesn’t] have respect for the old man.”

We’ve gathered that the Ivorian musician sent a song to Sarkodie back in 2015 to feature on but Sarkodie has failed to do the song.

Sarkodie has reacted to Meiway’s claim by apologizing, saying that he’s sorry and that he has great respect for him.

Sarkodie in a series of tweets, apologised profusely and narrated events. He admitted that, he had received the song and that he was waiting for the right moment before hopping on it but the mistake he did was not updating the legendary Ivorian Musician.

Sarkodie tweeted these tweets:
