Jamie Carragher is a former professional footballer from England and a current football pundit. On January 28, 1978, he was born in Bootle, Merseyside, UK.
Carragher started his professional football career at Liverpool Football Club, where he played as a defender the entire time. One of Liverpool’s all-time most capped players, he made his debut for the club in 1997 and went on to play 737 appearances for them. During his time at Liverpool, he won several awards, including the UEFA Super Cup, FA Cup, League Cup, and UEFA Champions League.
Carragher played in two World Cup competitions and was a consistent component of the England national team, gaining 38 caps.
Carragher transitioned from football to television punditry in 2013, working for Sky Sports as a commentator and analyst. He has gained notoriety in the media as a result of his intelligent analysis and fervent thoughts on the sport.
