Jeremy Charles Robert Clarkson is an English motoring broadcaster, journalist, farmer, game show host, and writer.

He is best known for co-hosting the motoring shows Top Gear and The Grand Tour with Richard Hammond and James May.

Clarkson rose to public prominence as a presenter of the original format of Top Gear in 1988, after a career as a local journalist in northern England.

He has established himself as a well-known public figure, frequently appearing on British television, both presenting his own shows for the BBC and as a guest on others.

From October 27, 1988, to March 3, 1999, Clarkson presented the British driving show Top Gear.

Clarkson hosted the new format from 20 October 2002 to 8 March 2015. He, James May, and Richard Hammond made Top Gear BBC Two’s most-watched show, rebroadcast in over 100 nations.

Clarkson’s company Bedder 6, which handled Top Gear merchandise and foreign distribution, made over £149 million in 2012 before BBC Worldwide took over the rights.
