Rapper and business mogul D-Black has joined thousands of Ghanaians on social media to demand the immediate return of Ghana’s all-time most prolific player Asamoah Gyan to the Black Stars.
The intense campaign started almost immediately after Ghana’s shock exit from the 2021 AFCON tournament after minnows and debutants Comoros defeated the four time champions 3-2 at the end of 90 minutes.
The Ghanaian rapper shared a link to a ‘Bring Back Gyan’ petition online and called on his fans to sign it. “Pls share and sign this petition for Asamoah Gyan back to lead the BlackStars Team one last time. Thank you,” he tweeted.
The campaign on change.org states that “we petition for the Ghana Black Stars Team to be restructured and led by Asamoah Gyan for the World Cup qualifiers and inevitably the 2022 World Cup in Qatar”.
In a separate D-Black consolidated the reason why this petition has become necessary saying, “our Black Stars team ‘top striker’ in goals in 2021 be single ‘1’. I see”. See his tweets below and share your thoughts with us.

Meanwhile, Rajevac has however refused to shoulder the blame for the abysmal performance insisting that he had little time before the commencement of the tourney.
The Serbian trainer, who was reappointed in September last year to replace Charles Akonnor, has no intention of leaving the job.
“I came to Ghana just three and a half months ago, don’t expect magic,” Rajevac said at the presser.
The Comoros defeat followed draw with Gabon and the opening day defeat to Morocco. This means Ghana failed to win a single match at the tournament for the first time.
He said, “I will stay and lead Ghana in the World Cup qualifiers in March. I believe we have a team that can become stronger and get to the World Cup.”
“My target was to qualify Ghana for the World Cup, this AFCON is my primary target. I am looking forward to qualifying Ghana for the world cup in March.”
The draw for World Cup play-offs is scheduled for Saturday, January 22, 2022.
