Joseph “Jo Mersa” Marley, Bob Marley’s grandson, passed away at the age of 31. Mersa was discovered unconscious in his car on Tuesday, according to Radar Online on December 27.

Despite the absence of a documented official cause of death, Florida radio station WZPP is apparently alleging that an asthma attack was to blame. Mersa made a living off of his musical talent, just like his illustrious grandpa and his father, Stephen Marley.

He began his career in his early 20s with the 2014 Comfortable EP, which also featured fellow reggae musicians Wayne Marshall and Jemere Morgan. In addition, he made numerous songs by his father, and he was well-liked at music festivals.

Just last year, Mersa released his second album, Eternal, which included artists like Melii, Black-Am-i, Busy Signal, and Kabaka Pyramid.

Multiple posters for gigs served as his last few uploads on the late artist’s Instagram page, which demonstrated that he was consistently working up until his departure. Prayers and well wishes from followers and friends have now flooded the comments.
