Joy FM’s George Quaye elected as ATWAG President

New leaders have been elected to steer the affairs of the Arts and Tourism Writers Association of Ghana (ATWAG) for the next four years.

The election took place on Saturday, December 17, 2017.

Ghanaian broadcaster and host of Showbiz A to Z on Joy FM, George Nii Armah Quaye was elected as President of the association.

He takes over from William Asiedu, a journalist.

The Vice-President position was won by freelance radio and television host Livingstone Lotsu.

Four years ago, Lotsu contested the same position but lost to Francis Doku, General Manager of TV3 and arts writer with Graphic Showbiz.

Hagar Gyebuwaa Owusu of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) emerged as the Treasurer of the association, with Rebekah Awuah also of GBC taking over from arts and entertainment journalist, Reagan Odei Ofosu Osarfo (Nana Reagan) as secretary.

Fashion designer, Adu Amani will be taking over from Mustapha Nii Okai Inusah, a writer with modernghana.com and Attractivemustapha.com as the organizer.

The date for the swearing-in ceremony is yet to be announced.
