They reportedly went to the Ejisu Police station to find out if they had parked illegally and also provided proof of FDA’s approval to sell the drinks. They were sent on their way by the Ejisu Divisional Police Commander, ACP Baman Laar, after he had inspected their document and verified its authenticity.

According to Shifo, about 10 armed policemen were later deployed to arrest the group without giving them any reason. This infuriated Ras Nene who got into an altercation with the officers asking for the reasons for their arrest. Kwaku Manu is alleged to have asked the officers how they are expected to survive in this country if the police won’t allow them to sell their drinks only for the officers to start assaulting him.
