When I become president of Ghana, I won’t take salary- Kennedy Agyapong makes solemn promise

Kennedy Agyapong who recently declared his intention to vie for his party’s flagbearership slot and possibly go on to become the president of Ghana has made a solemn pledge about his future should Ghanaians give him the mandate to lead them.

The stalwart and firebrand of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has firmly resolved said never to take a salary as the president of Ghana.

“When I become President, I won’t draw salaries from the state…no, I don’t need a salary from the state because excuse me to say, I wouldn’t be able to pay ‘chop money’ or take good care of myself when I withdraw salaries from the state…,” he said recently on Net 2 TV.

Beyond that, the business mogul and anti-corruption campaigner also said he’ll establish presidential scholarships for Ghanaian youth when he becomes the country’s leader shortly.

“I will establish what we will call a presidential scholarship with my salary. I mean my salary will be used to fund the scholarship for the poor but needy in society, especially in the rural areas…,” he added.
