Per the arrangement, Kobi Rana’s latest movie “Freedom and Justice” was slated to be premiered on Christmas Day Friday, December 25 at the Knutsford University Hall, East Legon.
But the unfortunate development reaching us from the camp of Kobi Rana’s Runaway Productions who happens to be the producer of “Freedom and Justice” has it that authorities have banned them from premiering the timeless movie.
Per the content of a communiqué, venues they have already secured to showcase “Freedom and Justice” movie have been served with letters from the Ghana Tourism Authority to stop showing the movie on December 25 as planned.
Nonetheless, policemen later stormed the venue and locked up all the gates perhaps as a means to prevent the possible spread of Covid-19 as there’s a ban of public gathering including cinemas by Ghana’s president Akufo Addo.
As a reminder, “Freedom and Justice” movie, set somewhere in Africa, a government conference is attacked by a group of young citizens. They hold the ministers and media hostage asking for accountability live on national television.
The President (David Dontoh) must protect the hostages and the state from their leader (Kobi Rana) who has a hidden plan.
Other members of the cast of Freedom and Justice include Kafui Danku, Irene Opare, Kofi Adjorlolo, Mawuli Semevor, Akumaa Mama Zimbi, Ekow Blankson among others.
