Veteran Highlife musician, producer and song writer, Gyedu-Blay Ambolley, has eulogized musician Kofi Kinaata as the only artist preserving the indigenous Highlife music in Ghana.
Speaking in an interview on Joy Prime TV, Gyedu Ambolley indicated that other big artistes like Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy do not incorporate Ghanaian culture in their music.
“If you take Kinaata, when he sings you could see that there is a kind of locality in there and when he is rapping you can see the locality”. Gyedu stated.
According to Gyedu Ambolley, Kofi Kinaata is doing well for himself but he still has a lot of work to do to get to where he wants to reach as far as music is concerned.
Kofi Kinaata has won the hearts of Ghanaians with his genre of music. His songs ‘Susuka’ and ‘Things Fall Apart’ have all been rated by music critics as one of the best songs.
