Kristin Dawn Chenoweth (born on July 24, 1968) in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, U.S. She is an American actress and singer.
She played Sally Brown in the 1967 play You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown on Broadway in 1999. For her performance, she won a Tony Award for Best Featured Actress. Chenoweth was nominated for a second Tony Award in 2003 for playing the lead role in the musical Wicked for the first time (2003).
Her TV role as Annabeth Schott in The West Wing on NBC (1999-2006, TV series). She also played Olive Snook in the ABC comedy-drama Pushing Daisies (2007-2009, TV series).
She won a Primetime Emmy Award in 2009 for her role as Olive Snook. The award was for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series.
She also played Mildred Layton in the musical comedy Schmigadoon! and Lavinia in the 2018 TV show Trial & Error (2021, TV series). She sang gospel music in Oklahoma when she was a child.
Before she decided to work in musical theater, she studied opera. In 1997, Steel Pier was her first show on Broadway, and she won a Theatre World Award for it.
The Apple Tree in 2006, Promises, Promises in 2010, and On the Twentieth Century in 2015 were some of her other Broadway roles. For the roles she played on Broadway, she was nominated for another Tony Award.
She went to Broken Arrow Senior High School and was in the school plays there. She went to Oklahoma City University after high school. There, she joined the Gamma Phi Beta (Beta Omicron) sorority.
She got her bachelor’s degree in musical theater in the year 1990. In 1992, she also got a master’s in opera performance.
