Kumasi: Fake lawyer busted after misquoting very basic legal terminology in court

A fake lawyer identified as Kyei Baffour was today busted at the law court after he misquoted a very basic legal terminology.

Kyei Baffour who has been posing as a lawyer for some years now had his luck run out at the law court and is now in the grips of the Police for posing as a lawyer.

According to a Police report, Kyei Baffour who has found interest in posing as a fake lawyer for some time now had a case at the Nyinahin District Magistrate court presided over by Vera Victoria Akonu.

Vera Victoria Akonu, according to the report had her reservations about the lawyer and therefore dug deep into his education and that was when he was caught.

She found out that Kyei Baffour who claimed to have been called to the Bar in 2015 with his license number as EAR 21053/21 had lied because the Ghana Bar Association and the General Legal Council had denied knowledge of him.

The Magistrate Vera Victoria Akonu, therefore, ordered the arrest of Kyei Baffour who upon interrogation admitted that he was not a Lawyer but had some form of legal training in the United States of America.

He asserted that he passed the Law Entrance Examination in Ghana but he discontinued the Law Programme due to personal reasons.

Kyei Baffour has since been detained to assist the Police in its investigations and will be arraigned before the Circuit Court at Nkawie.
