Before joining the movie industry, Sumsum said most of his colleagues were street hustlers, struggling to earn a living in the industry.

Speaking in an interview with Fiifi Pratt of Kingdom Plus FM, the actor said unlike Ghallywood where most of the actors are well to do, most Kumawood stars came from the street.

Citing an example, Sumsum said Ras Nene who is currently trending on social media following his new tv series was a notorious robber who has been to prison for several years but Kumawood changed his life.

He also talked about how Agya Koo moved from a shoeshine boy who sleeps on the streets to a national icon all because of Kumawood.
