Kumawood Movie Producers Run To Bishop Obinim For Spiritual Guidance On How To Revive The Movie Industry

An excerpt of Chinua Achebe’s Things Fall Apart reads, “Turning and turning in the widening gyre. The falcon cannot hear the falconer; Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold…”. Yes!, the above quote can be used to describe the current state of Ghana movie industry regardless.

Well, ever since the state of Ghanaian movie industry started deteriorating, the producers, actors and actresses blamed it on the influx of Telenovelas in the country. As a result, they organised series of demonstration but to no avail, therefore, they’ve now thought it wise to redefine their approach in their quest to resurrect the struggling movie industry.

It’s in the light of this that keen Kumawood producers have run to the founder and leader of International God’s Way Church, Bishop Daniel Obinim on how to restore the lost glory. Perhaps they’ve come to realize that what’s fighting against the movie industry is not all that physical that can be cured by organizing demonstrations.

Chief Executive Officer of Miracle Films, Rev. Samuel Nyamekye who spoke to GHBase.Com posited that in their quest to find solutions to revive the movie industry especially Kumawood, they thought it wise to consult the man of God. This is because they’re of the view that God is simply impossibility specialist.

Rev. Samuel Nyamekye, Kwaku Twumasi & Papa Nii happen to be the Kumawood personalities who sought the spiritual welfare of the movie industry from Angel Obinim. They told Angel Obinim that after working tirelessly to produce a movie amidst all the challenges, people don’t patronize.

He indicated that Bishop Obinim being the angel of our time should pray to make their movies attractive in order to get the public attracted to their movies and also ensure that they have a boom in their returns. The good news is that after their plea, Bishop Obinim assured them of a positive change. So, we’re all looking forward to seeing an improvement in Ghana movie industry henceforth.
