Lagos State Government set to probe private hospital for unprofessionalism over Rico’s death

The Lagos state government is set to probe private hospital “Doreen Hospital” for unprofessionalism over the death of reality star Rico.

Recall that a video from Doreen Hospital where the late Rico Swavey was seen lying on a structure helpless and unattended to popped up on social media. Many bloggers and social media users have called out the hospital for its negligence.

In the video that went viral, some nurses at the hospital neglected their duties while Rico was in critical condition. In the clip, Rico Swavey was seen on a chair while one of the nurses called for help to put him on a stretcher, the others were laid back watching unconcerned.

One of the nurses was heard cautioning her colleague against the act.
“You people should stop making the video; somebody is dying, you people are making video,” the nurse said.

Reacting to the public outcry, the Lagos state Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, said the state government had commenced an investigation. “That hospital is not a government hospital. We have started an investigation into the unprofessional conduct of those who appeared in that video,” he said.

Rico Swavey passed on yesterday Thursday 13th October 2022 after he was put on life support the previous night.
