Award-winning filmmaker Leila Djansi has advised men to let their wives have access to their bank details and mobile money wallet otherwise in the event of untimely death- there will be consequences for the woman and kids.
The US-based director made the comment on the heels of the drama ongoing between National Democratic Congress (NDC) MP, Ras Mubarak and ex-wife Rasheeda Adams.
Recall that after remaining silent on what culminated in the collapse of his marriage, Mr. Mubarak recently divulged a lot of things about Rasheeda which showed his hands are literally clean over the allegations she raised against in the aftermath.
Mubarak also revealed that Rasheeda always asked him to give her his pin codes while he was vigorously on the ‘frontline’ campaigning for his party. It’s against this background that Leila chipped in that there’s nothing wrong for a wife to have access to this information and even went ahead to encourage men to make their wives privy to some of these things.
She said in a post on Facebook that “If you have a stay home wife, it’s vital she has all access to your bank accounts! What if you die? You want your children to starve? Your son to starve? How is she going to give you a befitting burial? Married couples, y’all need joint accounts. Access each other’s finances”.
