In March 1966, Lisa Salters was born in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania. Before venturing into broadcasting, she was a collegiate basketball player where, at 5’2′′ as a guard, she graduated from Penn State University as the shortest player in school history.

She played guard for the Lady Lions basketball team from 1986 to 1987.

Salters is a graduate of King of Prussia’s Upper Merion Area High School, where she was inducted into the school’s Hall of Fame. Tony Dorsett, a former University of Pittsburgh running back who now plays for the Dallas Cowboys, is Salters’ cousin.

Salters was inducted into the Montgomery County Chapter of the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame on October 13, 2017.
