Maggie Peterson death: What caused the death of Maggie Peterson?

American actress cum singer, Maggie Peterson who is widely known for her role on The Andy Griffith show as Charlene Darling has been reported dead at the age of 81.

Amy Royer, the niece of the actress took to Facebook to confirm the saddening demise of Maggie Peterson disclosing that she died in her sleep on Sunday afternoon in Colorado.

According to her family, her health took the turn for the worse following the death of her husband, Las Vegas-based Jazz musician, Gus Mancuso in December. Maggie Peterson and her husband were married for 40 years before death does them apart.

“Maggie’s health took a turn for the worse after the death of her husband Gus and we are relieved that we were able to move her home to be close to family for her last days” the statement read.

The Andy Griffith Museum post on Instagram also said, “brought so much joy to her fans, and our Mayberry Days Festival. We will miss you, Maggie”.

Maggie Peterson attained her breakthrough role as Charlene Darling on The Andy Griffith Show in 1963 and within a few months her name because a household name.
