“Mahama or no president” – Hundreds of NDC women demonstrate in Kumasi over ‘flawed’ election results [Photos]

Hundreds of members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) women-wing demonstrate in Kumasi today December 15, 2020, over what they describe as their refusal to accept the verdict of a ‘flawed’ election.

Clad in red and black with touches of party colours, these women were led by the party’s women organizer, Madam Hanna Bissiw, to stage a stiff opposition against election figures as presented by the Electoral Commission.

After being stopped by the police from marching to the regional EC office to register their displeasure, the women, led by Hanna Bissiw said they demand the immediate rectification of the election figures by the EC.

“We are Ghanaian women and citizens of this nation, and we voted in the 2020 polls, but we feel that the Electoral Commission rigged the elections in favour of President Akufo-Addo and if we don’t get up, this country would turn into something that we all won’t like it.”

“So we are asking Jean Mensa to come back and sit with the political parties to correct whatever mistakes it did because if she does so, President Akufo-Addo will not be declared president, she said.

Meanwhile, the NDC’s presidential candidate John Dramani Mahama has said until the election figures by the EC are audited and independently verified, he is not going to accept the election results as presented.
