A 23-year-old man who reportedly hacked his girlfriend to death for mistakenly spoiling the screen of his iPhone has been arrested by the Police operatives in Delta State.
The young man, Godspower Adegheji committed the heinous crime in Ozoro area of the state.
Godspower killed his woman, Gift Oloku, 22, with a machete after she mistakenly broke his IPhone 11 pro max during a brawl on Saturday, July 16, 2022.
The command’s spokesperson, Bright Edafe shed light on the unfortunate incident by revealing that the lovers got into a heated confrontation after Godspower got angry with her for going out without informing him.
To this end, he accused her of cheating on him and this led to a physical altercation leading to Gift’s death after he used a machete to slash her for breaking his phone during the melee.
“People said he was high that he didn’t do it with his clear eyes because he didn’t run away after killing her, instead, he rushed her to a general hospital.
The girl is a student of the Ozoro polytechnic, but the guy is not. Maybe he has graduated. The guy must have been on drugs last night, it was this morning that he regained himself and rushed the girl to the hospital,” a source told The Nation.
