Man mistakenly shoots himself after dreaming he was being robbed

A man reportedly shot himself after having a dream that he was being robbed, according to a New York Post report. At his Illinois home in April, Mark M. Dicara, 62, was found by police with a gunshot wound to the leg.

The reason he got up in the middle of the night to fetch his.357 Magnum Revolver was because he had a nightmare about being robbed, he told detectives. He explained to police authorities that while still asleep, he went to fetch his.357 Magnum Revolver revolver because he was experiencing a nightmare about being robbed.

‘When he fired, he shot himself and apparently woke up from the dream,’ Lake County Sheriff’s Office said.

According to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, after he fired, he accidentally shot himself and ‘apparently woke up from the dream.

They verified there had been no genuine burglary. His leg was shot through, and the bullet landed on the bed. Dicara was accused of having a handgun in her possession while her Illinois-required handgun Owners Identification card was suspended. It is unclear why this was revoked.

He was also accused of firing a gun carelessly. He posted a $150,000 bond and was granted bail. He has a June 29 court date.
