Mass Shooting: Walmart store manager kills at least 7 people in Virginia, U.S

A Walmart store manager reportedly opened fire at customers in the store killing at least six people before taking his own life.

According to Chesapeake Police Department Chief Mark Solesky, the incident happened on Tuesday night.

In a news conference on Wednesday morning, the police officers of Chesapeake, Virginia said they arrived at the store at 10:16 p.m., exactly 2 minutes after the incident.

Chief Mark Solesky said the shooter was a disgruntled employee of the store who took his life after the incident. The authorities say that the suspect was a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Authorities believe the shooter used a pistol. however, the main motive behind the shooting by the employee is not known yet.

Mark Warner, a Democratic senator for the state of Virginia, tweeted that he was “sickened by reports of yet another mass sh@@ting” while Virginia state Senator L. Louise Lucas, also a Democrat, added that she was “absolutely heartbroken”.

She wrote on Twitter: “I will not rest until we find the solutions to end this gun violence epidemic in our country.”
