Matthew Edward Patricia is a football coach who currently serves as a senior defensive assistant for the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFL. He played football at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and began his coaching career as a graduate assistant in RPI. Patricia later joined the New England Patriots in 2004 as an offensive coaching assistant and worked his way up to become the team’s defensive coordinator, a position he held for six seasons. During his time with the Patriots, he won three Super Bowls and held various coaching positions, including assistant offensive line coach, linebackers coach, and safeties coach.
In 2018, Patricia was named the head coach of the Detroit Lions, where he led the team to a 6-10 record in his first season and a 3-12-1 record in his second season, both marked as a decline from his predecessor’s record. Despite this, Patricia was given another chance to show improvement in the 2020 season, but he was fired in November 2020 along with general manager Bob Quinn.
Patricia then returned to the Patriots in January 2021 in various roles, which were not specified. He later served as the Patriots’ offensive playcaller in 2022 before joining the Philadelphia Eagles as a senior defensive assistant in 2023.
Who are Patricia Children Dominic, Dante, Giamina?
Matt Patricia, the former head coach of the Detroit Lions and current senior defensive assistant for the Philadelphia Eagles, is also a family man with three children. He has been married to Raina Grigelvick Patricia since 2009, and the couple has been blessed with two sons, Dominic and Dante, and a daughter, Giamina. Raina was an active member of the ‘Patriots Women Association’ while Matt was serving as an assistant coach with the New England Patriots.
Despite being married to a famous NFL coach, there is little information available about Raina Patricia’s early career. It appears that she has been a supportive spouse, staying out of the public eye and focusing on raising their three children.
While not much is known about Matt Patricia’s children, it’s safe to assume that they have inherited their father’s passion for football.
