Reports have it that Matt Petgrave got arrested for the death of fellow hockey star Adam Johnson.
The 29-year-old American ice hockey player passed away on October 28 after a skater collided with him and cut his throat during a game against the Sheffield Steelers.
After the collision with Steelers star Matt Petgrave, Johnson lay bleeding on the ice at Sheffield’s Utilita Arena, protected by players.
Approximately 8,000 people watched in horror as attempts were made to save his life. Johnson ultimately passed away in a hospital from his injuries.

According to the BBC, a man has been detained on “suspicion of manslaughter” in relation to Adam Johnson’s death while playing ice hockey. That man is reported to be Matt Petgrave.

A statement said: ‘Detectives have today (Tuesday, November 14) arrested a man on suspicion of manslaughter. He remains in police custody at this time.
‘On Saturday 28 October, Adam, aged 29, was seriously injured during a game between Nottingham Panthers and Sheffield Steelers and was sadly later pronounced deceased in hospital. A post-mortem examination confirmed he died as a result of a fatal neck injury.’
‘Extensive enquiries’ had been conducted by the police following the tragedy, stated Detective Chief Superintendent Becs Horsfall.
‘Our investigation launched immediately following this tragedy, and we have been carrying out extensive enquiries ever since to piece together the events which led to the loss of Adam in these unprecedented circumstances.
‘We have been speaking to highly specialized experts in their field to assist in our enquiries and continue to work closely with the health and safety department at Sheffield City Council, which is supporting our ongoing investigation.’
