The British businessman served as chairman of several English football organizations, including West Ham United (jointly) from 2010 until his death and Birmingham City Football Club until 2009.

He was a devoted West Ham fan who played a significant role in the club’s takeover in 2010 before serving as Birmingham City’s chairman for 12 years.

On the morning of January 4, 2023, David Gold passed away with his fiancee and daughters by his side. The 86-year-old died after only a brief illness.

Was David Married Before He Died?

In 1957, David Gold wed Beryl Hunt, his first love. At the time, he was 21.

When David discovered Beryl having an affair with his closest friend in his swimming pool 15 years later, in 1972, the couple decided to get a divorce. It took place the same day that David discovered his Father stealing his shares.

Even before departing for the honeymoon, according to David, he was aware that he had made a mistake.

Daughters Jacqueline and Vanessa Gold were his only children, and Beryl, who passed away in 2003, was their mother. Both of his daughters have managed businesses in the same way as their father.

At Ann Summers and Knickerbox Ltd., Jacqueline, 62, serves as CEO and Vanessa, 57, as MD.
