Every lover of Ghana’s Creative Arts Industry might have heard or read something about The Taste of Afrika on the various portals. However, much is not known about the big brain behind the agenda.
Consequently, as part of measures to inform its cherished readers, we decided to dig deep basically to know the one behind The Taste of Afrika and the onus fell on Tengol K. Kplemani.
Per our checks, Tengol K. Kplemani is a Ghanaian who has the creative sector at heart and has been doing a lot of industry works behind the scenes and this is the time for him to launch his own idea (The Taste of Afrika) to protect our local industry to the Afrikan continent and the world at large.
The Taste of Afrika movement seeks to exploit Afrikan music and culture by bringing together creative acts from different Afrikan countries to tour around the continent with series of musical concerts, rich cultural exhibitions, tourism among others.
Now, considering the beautiful future and impact that The Taste of Afrika can have on our Ghanaian creative arts sector, it’s our fervent hope that each and everyone gives Tengol K. Kplemani the needed support and push to make our industry a beacon of hope to the rest of the world.
Thus, personalities like Faisal Helwani, Akwamu Boateng, Ike and Tina Turner, Wilson Pickett, Jimmy Cliff, Bob Marley, others all had a patriotic agenda to push the industry forward, but insufficient support jeopardized everything.
Regardless, The Taste of Afrika is supported by organizations like, Ministry of Tourism Culture and Creative Arts, Ghana Tourism Authority, Creative Arts Council, MUSIGA, GHAMRO, Lynx Entertainment, Ngomma (Kenya), Africa and The World Music (USA/Ivory Coast), VPAL Music (USA), Made in East New York (USA), Songa (Kenya), JennCole Designs (USA) Hobe Agency (Rwanda) Temple Management (Kenya), Spotlyte Entertainment (Uganda).
