Melinda Dillon was an American actress who is widely recognized for her supporting roles in several movies however her major role as an actress was Honey in the original 1962 Broadway production.
She was born on October 13th, 1939 in Hope, Arkansas but was raised in Cullman, Alabama in the United States of America. She attended Hyde Park High School and later enrolled in the Goodman School of Drama at the Arts Institute of Chicago now DePaul University.
Before becoming an actress, she started her career as a comedian and stage actress and later got the opportunity to appear in the Broadway production, Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf.
In 1963 she received a Tony Awards nomination for her debut in Broadway production and also nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her roles as Teresa Perrone in Absence of Malice and Jillian Guiler in Close Encounters of the Third Kind
