Some members of the Lighthouse Church have leapt to the defence of Bishop Dag Heward-Mills in the wake of controversies surrounding the treatment of pastors.
Dag Heward-Mills, the founder and general overseer of the United Denominations Originating from the Lighthouse Group of Churches (UD-OLGC, formerly Lighthouse Chapel International has been heavily criticised following a damning story run by The Fourth Estate titled “Darkness in the Lighthouse: Pastors recount abuse and trauma”
The story reveals accounts of pastors who feel they weren’t treated well by the church.
Some days ago, six former pastors of the church now known as United Denominations, originating from the Lighthouse Group of Churches, alleged that their SSNIT contributions were not paid during their working years.
According to the six former pastors who have sued the church, they were exploited and their SSNIT contributions weren’t paid during their active working years.
“I left lighthouse never to return to Christianity or any religion. This Dag erh! He’s a con artist ankasa,” Goddezz who was a member of the Lighthouse Chapel said in a Facebook post.
“He did it twice and I wasn’t going to wait for the third time. He will come to our branch under the pretense of healing and miracle, only to come and have fundraising.”
This has led to criticism from a section of Ghanaians, who believe the church and its founder acted in bad faith.
However, some members of the Lighthouse church have also taken to Twitter to defend their head pastor.
I pray and thank God for the life, mandate and ministry of His anointed servant, the Bishop Dag Heward-Mills.🙌🏾
I’m an intercessor and not an accuser.🙏🏾

Even hitler had followers despite it all,no matter how you make Bishop Dag appear. There will be others who will still appreciate him for personal influence he’s had in their lives. So yeah being an atheist won’t mean others should follow up. Stop forcing it, call him out properly

Times of trials and tribulations for the Lighthouse Church as a whole but I won’t speak ill of Bishop Dag regardless.
God is the ultimate judge and not we humans so let’s be guided and tread wisely.
