Michael William Gesicki is an American football tight end for the National Football League’s New England Patriots. At Penn State, he played collegiate football. In Penn State history, he holds the record for the most receptions by a tight end.
Gesicki, a resident of Stafford Township, New Jersey’s Manahawkin neighborhood, graduated from Southern Regional High School in 2014 after setting school records in volleyball blocks, basketball scoring (1,866 points), and football catches (103) and receiving yards (1,817). (519).
Gesicki played football, basketball, and volleyball at Southern Regional High School in Stafford Township, New Jersey.
With 1,817 yards on 103 receptions and 16 touchdown catches, he concluded his career as the Rams’ all-time leading receiver.
From 2014 to 2017, Gesicki attended Penn State and participated in college football there. In July 2017, Gesicki was added to the John Mackey Award watchlist, which honors the best tight end in college football.
Gesicki was chosen by the Miami Dolphins with the 42nd overall choice in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft.  The second tight end selected in 2018 was Gesicki.
Gesicki signed a four-year, $6.61 million contract with the Miami Dolphins on June 18, 2018, with $3.66 million guaranteed and a $2.88 million signing bonus.
Gesicki made his NFL debut against the Tennessee Titans in the Dolphins’ 2018 season opener. He recorded a reception for 11 yards.
Gesicki had 22 receptions for 202 receiving yards at the end of his first campaign.
Gesicki’s first receiving touchdown of his professional career came in Week 12 of the 2019 campaign when he caught a pass from Ryan Fitzpatrick of 11 yards against the Cleveland Browns.
He recorded six receptions for 82 receiving yards and two receiving touchdowns in Week 16’s 38-35 overtime victory over the Cincinnati Bengals.
Gesicki had 51 receptions for 570 receiving yards and five receiving touchdowns at the end of the 2019 season.
Gesicki ended Week 2 of the 2020 campaign against the Buffalo Bills with eight receptions for 130 yards and his first season touchdown. The Dolphins lost the game 28-31, but it was the first time in his NFL career that he had over 100 receiving yards in a single game.
He has five receptions for 65 receiving yards and two touchdowns in Week 14’s 33-27 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.
Gesicki recorded a total of 53 receptions for 706 receiving yards and six receiving touchdowns in the 2020 season.
The Dolphins gave Gesicki the franchise tag on March 8, 2022.
