Ministers who lost in the parliamentary election will not be reappointed – President Akufo-Addo

Ministers in the previous administration who lost in the 2020 parliamentary election will not be reappointed into the new administration.

This is the new directive from the office of President disclosed by Mr Eugene Arhin Acting Director of Communications at the Presidency.

In an exclusive interview with Graphic Online, Mr Eugene Arhin said over 40 ministers who ost in the parliamentary race on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) forfeit to be reappointed.

He said those people had automatically lost the opportunity to be appointed again to any ministerial position. Mr Arhin said since President Akufo-Addo was sworn in for a second term, he had taken several significant decisions concerning appointments.

Below Are Some Of The Former Ministers Who Lost Their Parliamentary Seats

1, Dr Bernard Okoe-Boye: The MP for the Ledzokuku constituency in the Greater Accra Region and the Deputy Minister of Health has lost his seat to Ben Ayiku of the NDC.

2, Elizabeth Afoley Quaye: The MP for the Krowor constituency in the Greater Accra Region and Minister for Fisheries has lost her seat to Naa Momo Lartey of the NDC.

3, Barbara Ayisi: The MP for the Cape-Coast North constituency in the Central Region and Deputy Minister for Works and Housing has lost her seat to Dr Kwame Mintah Nyarko of the NDC.

5, Abubakar Saddique Boniface: The MP for the Madina constituency in the Greater Accra constituency and Minister at the Presidency has lost his seat to Lawyer Xavier Sosu of the NDC.

5, George Andah: The MP for the Awutu Senya West constituency in the Central Region who doubles as the Deputy Minister
