More trouble for Shatta Wale as police chase fourth suspect in his hoax case; slapped with two charges

The prosecution in the criminal case against Charles Nii Armah Mensah and three others has informed the circuit court that the police are looking for a new suspect who will be relevant to the case.

According to the prosecution, if the suspect who is currently on the run is apprehended, the facts of the case may change.

Shatta Wale and his three accomplices were arrested on Tuesday, October 19, 2021, after they had created and spread false news about a gun attack on the artiste. It turned out to be a hoax.

But the court believes there is a fourth suspect in the Shatta Wale prank case who needs to be arrested and brought before it. The identity of the fourth suspect is very much unknown.

However, the police have been tasked by the court to bring the fourth suspect as he will be relevant to the case.

Charges

Shatta Wale was charged with spreading false information and causing fear and panic.

Kojo Owusu Koranteng, Idris Yusif, and Eric Venator were also charged with aiding and abetting crime.

Meanwhile, the Circuit Court has ordered the release of Shatta Wale’s and his three accomplices’ mobile phones, which are still in police custody.

This is in response to a request by the four’s lawyer, Jerry Avenorgbo, that the items confiscated during their arrest be released.

According to him, the gadgets are essential to the work of his clients.
