Many Ghanaians appear frustrated by the recent increase in fuel prices. Currently, the price of petrol and diesel is currently pinned at about GH¢5.21 per litre, up from the previous price of GH¢5.07 per litre, despite a reduction in the price of crude oil on the international market.
So, it’s not surprising that Member of Parliament for Kumbungu, Ras Mubarak has added his voice in the form of protest to the increasing cost of fuel in Ghana. The MP on yesterday via his Facebook wall posted that he’ll start riding bicycle to Parliament to sensitise Ghanaians in reference to the unusual adjustment of fuel prices under NPP gov’t.
“Doing a 17km bicycle ride to Parliament from tomorrow as a way of highlighting the increasing cost of fuel and harsh economy under the NPP gov’t. Life is tough for ordinary Ghanaians.”, he wrote on his wall.
Fast forward, majority of his followers thought he Parliamentarian was joking but true to his words, he has started this morning as promised. The MP shared a photo which sees him wearing a helmet and a bicycle parked right behind him ready to embark on his journey to the Parliament house.
