Lynx Entertainment signee, Kuami Eugene has really suffered from the court of public opinion (social media users in Ghana) as his choice of fashion to public places on countless number of times have become the talk of Ghana.
On records, Kuami Eugene was mocked during the one week observation of the late Ebony Reigns for wearing black faded T-shirt. Besides, he became the subject of social media mockery when some of his fans alleged that he was wearing a GH¢5.00 boxer shorts among others.
But Kuami has for the first time opened up on what informed his decision to wear cheap and fake stuff sometime ago despite being a celebrity. In his recent interaction with JoyNews’ MzGee, the budding artiste revealed that he didn’t have the means to buy luxury since he shot to fame but thanks to God that his pocket is now dapper.
“Life is all about process, I mean I was in Fadama [a suburb of Accra] when Richie Mensah signed me so you don’t expect a boy who just came from Fadama with no money to be buying Louis Vuitton, Gucci and be wearing things that you think a celebrity should be wearing. I didn’t have that money so I didn’t want to force myself. Now I am making small money that I can afford things that I like,” he said.
The budding artiste added that: “Some months ago I was buying what I can afford and I’m still buying what I can afford.”
“I believe life is a process that is what people didn’t get, they feel I should just jump from who I was to somebody I am not and I cannot afford to do that. I was leaving a real life and I will leave a real life forever.”
Truly, the “Wish Me Well’ hitmaker has improved significantly over his sense of fashion off late to the surprise of many. This is evident in his recent photo posts on the photo sharing platform, Instagram. See photo below for verification.
