My Songs Can Now Be Classified As “Highlife Asorkpor”—Patapeezy Creates A New Genre Of Music

Ever wondered the kind of genre Patapaa’s kinda of music fit into? Well, the ‘Akwaaba’ hitmaker has created a new genre of music for himself and other artistes can start tagging their songs in that genre henceforth.

Patapaa who rose to fame after a song he didn’t expect to become that viral, became an internet sensation. The ‘One Corner’ hitmaker has since been featured by several artistes popular among them is the one he did with Mr. Eazi and Pappy Kojo.

Patapaa has disclosed in an interview with Angel Tv that his style of music should be classified as “Highlife Asorkpor”—He’s not kidding about that.

According to Patapaa who is now known as Patapeezy, he had recorded several highlife songs in the past but could not get a hit so when “One Corner” went viral, he knew that was it for him and so decided to stick to that style so he could remain relevant and build a career.

“One Corner was an experiment of fusing Hiplife with traditional dance music. I showed the song to a few people and they encouraged me to continue on that path rather than the highlife and surprisingly it worked out,” he said in his interview with Angel TV.
