Mystikal reportedly requests a gag order to protect his privacy in ongoing rape case

Mystikal, a former No Limit rapper, has asked for a gag order to be implemented in his ongoing rape case in order to safeguard his privacy, according to court documents and numerous media reports.

Mystikal’s attorney, Tiffany Myles Crosby, requested a gag order yesterday in his rape and false imprisonment case in Ascension Parish, Louisiana, due to an “inordinate amount of publicity,” according to court documents. The gag order would forbid attorneys from either party from publicly discussing the case in the media in any way.

The product of New Orleans is scheduled to return to court on March 20. Mystikal, whose actual name is Michael Lawrence Tyler, is facing life in prison of convicted of the 2022 first degree rape. He was initially hit with nine other charges, but could face a mandatory life sentence if convicted on the rape charge.

Mystikal, 52, is also accused of simple robbery, false imprisonment, domestic abuse battery by strangulation, possession of heroin, possession of methamphetamine, and unlawful possession of Xanax, among other offenses. Mystikal has entered a not-guilty plea to all allegations. Mystikal is still being detained without bail at the Ascension Parish Prison.
