Mzbel & Abrewa Nana Deserve An Applause For Paving The Way For Female Artistes – Eno Barony

Ruth Nana Serwaa Nyame famously known as Eno Barony has showered praises on Mzbel and Abrewa Nana for paving the way for female rappers in Ghana.

In a post on Instagram, Eno Barony recounted how her father used to change the television channel whenever the aforementioned females artistes songs were being aired.

According to Eno, she enjoyed their works and always wanted to be like them someday but the pastoral work of her father posed a challenge. Thus, she found it very difficult to convey to her father her ‘weird’ passion – music. Regardless, the desire and willingness to become a rapper like Abrewa Nana as well as Mzbel kept burning in her soul.

But then, Eno was quick to add that her role models (Abrewa Nana & Mzbel) also faced similar opposition yet they made it big in the end. Therefore, she will also push further and finally she’s here – everyone knows Ebony Barony in Ghana. She posted below via Instagram:

“Growing up I use to watch tv a lot and I fell in love with these two women I didn’t hav the chance to learn their songs cuz anytime they appeared my dad will change the channel but their names and rhythms got stuck in my head It’s either I’ll sing ?mate odo filla filla ama me da mentumi 3nda 3nda ? or ? fama me fa w) me fa shi me wo wu wo me ntumi nko ooo awoso me.

And I wanted to be them when I grow up but there was no way u cld tell ur father that cuz all parents want to hear professions like doctor ,lawyer etc Their music journey wasn’t easy but yet they survived on the surface and paved a way for we the young ones to follow and as we celebrate mothers this week I celebrate u two @abrewa_nana @mzbeldaily #musicmothers #livinglegends”
