Mzbel is not an artiste I would say I like soo much but there is something about her that I like a lot–That She’s Soo REAL. She doesn’t fake it nor pretend to be someone just to please society. She’s always maintained her stance on issues even when she’s been bashed several times for it. This is a girl who voiced her opinion that, she didn’t believe in Jesus and is not interested in getting married at all.
She endorsed the NDC’s John Dramani Mahama and it’s not something she would ever regret. She could have still helped the president by campaigning without tolling the line of ‘dirty’ politics. She came under heavy criticisms when she said in an interview that Nana Addo who is now President-elect can never be president. I need not to remind you of the bashings and events that unfolded after Nana Addo was declared the President elect.
Even tho, Mahama might never get to be President again, Mzbel still regards him as his hero and has penned down a letter to him once again on her Instagram page, few minutes after President Mahama delivered his final State of the Nation address as President.
Mzbel has described the President as a Candle in the Wind and says that, she yearns to see him as President again. In the Instagram post, she wrote;
JDM-A CANDLE IN THE WIND
It seems to me, you lived your life like a candle in the wind never knowing who to cling to when the rain set in
You had the grace to hold yourself in these painful moments whilst most grassroots, and those around you throughout the country crawled. Moments I can’t ever forget in my entire life.
You changed the pace and image of NDC politicking, your demeanor, language, humour.
You’re are my model
You’re my hero
From Bole, you rose as teacher, Assembly man, MP, Deputy Minister, a Minister, Vice President and a President
An accomplished man on our land. In our contemporary politics, nobody had chocked that feet.
To me there exist a certain STAR on your birth. I yearn for your Presidency again
Now for those who want to know the meaning of Candle in the wind, here’s an extract below:
It is a poetic meaning of a life of a fighter fighting the odds to survive. The threat of wind putting your light out, and the constant flickering due to the wind symbolize ones constant fight against odds and a restless spirit that keeps fighting to stay alive. The wind can be the harshness of life, the twists of fate, the blows life throws at you. The candle is the light of life that is constantly thriving to hang on and light up the darkness of life. If you are referring to ones self then your soul is the light, if another person is referring to you as the candle then they are indirectly referring to your troubled fighter soul and how you hold on to light up their lives.
Do you think Mahama was a Candle in the wind? Anyways, that’s what Mzbel thinks. Share your thought with us on this in the comment box.
