Boss of iRoko TV, Jason Njoku has sparked an intense debate on social media by saying school fees of N4.6 million (approximately ₵69,000) is cheap and he pays more for his 3-year-old.
He made the comment after his attention was drawn to the provisional bill for a school in Epe, Lagos State, with school fees of N4,643, 901 shared by a Twitter user. Trying to inflame passion perhaps, the tweep asked; ‘Is this fee actually worth it.’
Jason Njoku quickly jumped on the conversation by insisting that N4.6m is a chicken change and that he pays more for his 3yr old child. He said; ‘Most Nigerians don’t realize but most things in Nigeria are actually super cheap by African (forget global standards). For Tier 1 education in Africa (forget about globally) this for boarding school is cheap. I pay more for my 3-year olds Montessori school.’
