The president, Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo Addo has reportedly donated GHc100,000 towards the building of the National Cathedral.
One of the most debatable topics in Ghana is the building of the National Cathedral. A lot of people have shot down the idea of building the cathedral while the country is going through a crisis.
According to the President, he believes that with the support from the Christian community, he believes the promise he made to God to build a National Cathedral in Ghana to honor him will be fulfilled.
He made this known when he visited the construction site of the stalled project and made a donation of GH¢100,000.
According to him, “As I have said before, the National Cathedral will not just be another monument adorning the skyline of Accra, it will be a rallying point for the entire Christian community to come together and worship…
“I am therefore committed to working with the Board of Trustees to ensure the completion of this project to the glory of God.”
Recall that the Minority in Parliament rejected the GH¢80 million budget allocated to the construction of the National Cathedral but it seems Nana Addo is not discouraged as he says that the Cathedral will be built at all costs.
