Nana Osei Bobie, Akyempimhene of Dallas, Propagates Rich Ghanaian Cultural Heritage In The States

International Reggae icon Peter Tosh once recorded that, he doesn’t care where one comes from. As long as you’re a black man, you’re an African. It’s in the light of this that Nana Osei Bobie, Akyempimhene of Dallas – US, has defy all odds to propagate the rich Ghanaian cultural heritage in the United States.

 

He aims at teaching Ghanaians born and bred in United States the rich Ghanaian cultural heritage. As a result, he’s one of the propounders for the establishment of Asante Cultural Center in Dallas, US. The Asante Cultural Center will be aimed at teaching Ghanaians born and bred in United States the rich Ghanaian cultural heritage both material and non-material culture.

It’ll interest you to know that Nana Akyempimhene is currently in his motherland, Ghana for his mother’s funeral which happened at Kumasi Baba Yara Sports stadium. But to the amazement of the sympathisers, Nana Osei Bobie’s cultural display at the funeral grounds surprised everybody especially when Nana’s wife, Nana Konadu joined him on the dance floor.

More importantly, Nana Osei Bobie has planned to build boreholes at his hometown, Konkori, to minimise water shortage in the vicinity. Again, Nana has provided stationary to the schools in his hometown and surrounding villages. Also, Nana has been part of the contingent to Iraq and Afghanistan for peacekeeping on countless number of times.

Throwing more light on Ashanti Kingdom in outside Ghana, the US army commander educates that, Otumfour Osei Tutu has sanctioned “Chiefdom” in the all the 57 states in the United States including Dallas. According to him Otumfour has an ambassadors who watch the running of the chiefdom in United States. He added that Otumfour always delegates one Omanhene to be with them especially the swearing of oaths and the most recent delegate to have been there is Tepa Omanhene.

Regardless, Nana has called on the Gender Minister, Hon. Otiko Afisa Djaba to liaise with the Ghana Education Service (GES) to come out with measures to stem the rampant teacher-student relationship in the country. Also, Nana advised that the youth should stay away from drugs and take education as their priority.
