Natives of Akyem to stage a demonstration against Mahama for tagging some members of the gov't as 'Akyem Sakawa Boys.'

The chiefs and people of the Akyem Traditional Council will be baring their teeth out to the John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congres, through a demonstration.

This demonstration, which will be led by the Chief of Akyem Abuakwa in the Eastern Region, is a strong response to the former president for endorsing the ‘Akyem Sakawa Boys’ tag placed on some members of the government.

MP for Bolgatanga Central, Hon Isaac Adongo, shared an article some days ago in response to the controversy surrounding the Agyapa Royalties deal and used the term ‘Akyem Sakawa Boys’ in reference to some individuals who are spearheading the contract.

John Mahama also shared this article on his Facebook page; indirectly endorsing the words of Hon Isaac Adongo which has been condemned by many Ghanaians including President Akufo-Addo.

This has necessitated the upcoming demonstration which will be held at the Asamankese Lorry Park on Wednesday, September 9 by the people of Akyem to express their displeasure at the aforementioned phenomenon.
