Bawumia has stated the Akufo Addo government has concentrated on developing mechanisms that would reinforce and improve the country’s economic prospects, unlike previous administrations.

Dr. Bawumia claimed the government’s digitization program would boost Ghana’s economy on July 14, 2022.

Digital systems designed for many industries and organizations have increased tax collection, made access to services easier, and prevented corruption.

Since Ghana’s independence, successive administrations have focused on crisis management due to falling commodity prices, rising oil costs, unsustainable debt, political instability, macroeconomic instability, etc.

Dr. Bawumia said, “Governments haven’t concentrated on developing new economic systems and institutions.” Systems that decrease bribery and corruption, improve governmental service performance, boost domestic income, and make life simpler for Ghanaians.”

Based on the Akufo Addo/Bawumia government’s successes in constructing viable mechanisms to accelerate development, the Vice President said Ghana is on a new route to economic improvement and would emerge out of a program with the IMF stronger and better positioned for a takeoff.

“This Ghana is different.” Fast-changing Ghana. Digitalization and other initiatives are transforming the economic structure.
