NPP MPs doze off in parliament after arriving as early as 4 am to occupy majority seats

Some NPP MPs arrived as early as 4 am today January 15, 2021, in parliament to occupy the majority seats but ended up dozing off due to fatigue.

These MPs were motivated to come to the house as early as possible to beat their counterparts in the NDC so to occupy the majority seats in parliament.

On 6th January 2020, there was contention in parliament when the NDC MPs arrived earlier than the NPP MPs and occupied the majority side of parliament. This led to some disagreements in the house which even had Ursula Owusu Ekuful forcibly sitting on the laps of Kwabena Mintah Akandoh.

Well, the house resumes today and the NPP MPs in a bid to occupy the majority seats in parliament arrived as early as 4 am…way earlier than the NDC MPs would have anticipated. This had led to some fatigue as the MPs catch a nap in the house.

Ordinarily, the house commences business at 10 am and in the past MPs do arrive as late as they could but this time around due to the debate as to which party has the majority in parliament, the race to occupy the majority side has become very competitive.

Meanwhile, it is expected that the Speaker makes a pronouncement on which party has the majority in the 8th parliament today so to put the competition, debate and early rising to bed.
