Obrafour Refused To Feature On ‘Susuka’ – Kinaata

Fante singer and rapper Kofi Kinaata has disclosed that legendary rapper Obrafour refused to feature on his hit song Susuka when he sent it to him for collaboration purposes.

According to him, Obrafour’s refusal to feature on the song was a blessing in disguise.

Advising young artistes to heed the advice of experienced musicians when he appeared on Entertainment Capital on Accra100.5FM, the award-winning artiste said Obrafour chose not to feature on the song because he advised that Susuka was perfect just the way it was.

I wanted Obrafour to sing on Susuka. I sent him the song but Obrafour returned the song saying I had done everything to perfection on the song and he had nothing more to add. I had done the singing and I wanted him to rap on it. My manager advised me to release the song after it was done but I wanted a heavyweight to sing on it…but I’m glad it worked out. I thought he [Obrafour] didn’t want to feature on my song but it was rather a blessing and the song today is a hit,” he told show host Bismark Boachie (DJ Premier).

Kinaata advised that although he understands the desire for young and upcoming artistes to want to succeed at all cost, they should be patient and heed advice.

He further noted that he had to change his original rap when Castro and Asamoah Gyan featured him in their highlife song Odo Pa. According to him, because it was his first time coming out, he wanted to rap to impress but was cautioned by Castro to take it easy, which he did, and eventually became the stepping stone to unveil his talent to Ghanaians.
