The Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress, NDC, Dr Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo has admonished Ghanaians to disregard rumours and news that he has plans of contesting John Dramani Mahama for the NDC flagbearer slot in 2024.
According to him, this is not something that has even crossed his mind for a minute, and that Ghanaians should not fall for the usual gimmicks from the other side.
Ofosu-Ampofo said in an interview on Ahotor FM that he had no such thoughts whatsoever and that he is focused on his current job to do the best for the NDC and Ghanaians.
“I have no intentions to compete with Mahama, I have not even dreamed of it and I want all to disregard that news,” he said.
To Ofosu-Ampofo, he has become a thorn in the flesh of the ruling party and that they know what he is capable of doing, that is why they have made it a point to pull him back to derail his focus, but he says he won’t barge to all those gimmicks.
According to him, he has done a great job since becoming Chairman of the NDC, and that it was during the time he was National Organiser that Prof. Mills came to power and now he is Chairman the other people see him as a potential threat to them.
“I have become a threat to the NPP.
They know what I am capable of, and they are doing all possible to pull me back, but I am not sitting back.
I will continue doing what I’m doing for NDC and for Ghana.
When I became the National Organizer, Former President Atta Mills came to power and as National Chairman I have done a great job and they feel unsafe,” Ofosu-Ampofo said.
