Ohemaa Mercy explains why she had to quit her teaching job to pursue music (Video)

Ghanaian Gospel musician Ohemaa Mercy has revealed in an interview why she had to stop her teaching job to pursue the music career which has brought her good name and riches.

Tagged as one of the most inspiring and cherished gospel musicians in the country, Ohemaa Mercy in a chat with Andy Dosty on Hitz FM’s Daybreak Hitz revealed that she had to sacrifice her teaching career for her music ministry.

Answering the question on what infirmed her decision, the multiple award-winning artist revealed that the music ministry was getting bigger by then and had to quit teaching after praying over it.

“The ministry was getting bigger, hectic and I could not risk juggling the two jobs at the same time”

“I had to pray about [it] and eventually chose the music, I love the ministry a lot,” she told Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM, Monday.

The singer says she has plans of opening her own school because she always been driven by the passion to teach and see kids around her. “I just like seeing children in the classroom,” she said.

The gospel musician, however, has been on the low after releasing her last single, ‘Onim Me’ which featured Morris Babyface.

Explaining her absence from the scene, Ohemaa Mercy revealed she had lost her in-law while promoting the new song.

“We had to hold on from promoting or releasing any work. Coincidentally, Tahilla experience also followed but now, we are back to promoting and working on the music again,” she stated.
